Experiences from Lesja and Bjorli

Tussheimbue

The trip to Tussheimbue cabin in Dalsida Protected Landscape offers fantastic views of Reineheimen and Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella national parks. The day-trip cabin is open all year round and is a great place to seek shelter and enjoy your packed lunch. There are binoculars in the cabin, so you might be able to spot reindeer on the other side of the valley? The trip starts in Lesja city center and is 3.2 kilometers long and climbs 460 meters in elevation. It runs along a well-adapted and waymarked trail. Along the route, visitors get to learn about wild reindeer, as well as the story behind ‘Tussheimkyrkja’, the cairn at Tussheimbue. Read more about the trip at ut.no.

Cycling

Between Dombås and Lesjaskog, visitors can cycle along the shared-use path without having to cycle along the E136 road. This path is paved, and mainly runs parallel to the E136 road. You can also follow the county roads and the quiet side roads in a vibrant cultural landscape. Between Lesjaverk and Bjorli, there is a nice hiking trail on the western side of Lesjaskogsvatnet lake where you follow the wide gravel path.
